A motorcycle rider died after crashing off Sierra Way near Camp 9 in the Bakersfield area Saturday afternoon.
According to California Highway Patrol dispatch logs, the incident was reported at 3:31 p.m. when a solo motorcycle went down with the rider unconscious. The reporting party was transferred to the emergency command center.
A CHP unit was assigned at 3:33 p.m., went en route at the same time and arrived at the scene at 3:48 p.m.
At 3:57 p.m., the unit requested a tow truck for the motorcycle.
Dispatch notified towing companies for rotation at 3:59 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.
At 4:06 p.m., dispatch notified another unit that would respond.
At 4:07 p.m., the unit reported the vehicle was on the roadway.
Identities and the cause of the crash were not immediately available.
