A solo vehicle crash on the connector from southbound State Route 85 to westbound State Route 82 in the Redwood City area left one person dead late at night.
According to California Highway Patrol dispatch logs, the incident was reported at 10:27 p.m. and initially classified as a traffic collision with unknown injuries before being updated to a traffic collision with ambulance enroute. Fire personnel were dispatched, and an ambulance request was noted.
The logs indicated a solo vehicle with a solo occupant. The off-ramp was blocked.
CHP units were assigned starting at 10:31 p.m., with the first unit arriving at the scene at 10:39 p.m. Additional units arrived by 10:54 p.m. and 11:13 p.m.
