A vehicle rollover on Oberlin Road just east of South Phillipe Lane near Yreka left one person dead early in the morning.
According to California Highway Patrol dispatch logs, the crash was reported at 3:29 a.m. as a traffic collision involving a rolled blue vehicle with unknown details on whether it was blocking the roadway. A reporting party was out of the vehicle with a passerby on scene, and law enforcement notified Cal Fire. Authorities also notified the Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office.
A CHP unit arrived on scene with the vehicle about 1 mile just east of South Phillipe Lane. Another CHP unit advised the Yreka Police Department on rerouting traffic, including eastbound on Oberlin Road to Phillipe and Montague Grenada past Oberlin in either direction.
Additional units were assigned around 3:33 a.m. and arrived on scene by 3:45 a.m.
The identities of those involved and the cause of the crash were not immediately available.
