A two-vehicle crash Friday afternoon on Fillmore Street in Indio left one person dead, authorities said.
California Highway Patrol dispatch logs show the crash was reported at 1:18 p.m. near the intersection of Fillmore and 58th streets, involving a green Honda and a blue Hyundai sedan. Ambulance personnel were contacted for the deceased person’s name and date of birth, and the coroner was notified.
Cal Fire blocked all lanes at the scene. Two tow trucks were requested.
CHP units arrived at the scene starting at 1:46 p.m. and cleared the area by 2:44 p.m.
The identity of the deceased and the cause of the crash were not immediately available.
