A crash involving a semi-truck on West Elkhorn Boulevard near East Commerce Way in the North Sacramento area left one person dead late Friday night.
According to California Highway Patrol dispatch logs, the incident was reported at 10:50 p.m. and involved an unknown vehicle colliding with a Volvo semi-truck, with the semi ending up in a ditch. Firefighters were en route to the scene, but the logs did not mention ambulance requests or CPR efforts.
The crash completely blocked the westbound lanes, and authorities shut down lanes in both directions.
Multiple CHP units were assigned starting at 10:53 p.m., with the first arriving at the scene by 10:59 p.m.
Identities of those involved and the cause of the crash were not immediately available.
