A traffic collision on southbound State Route 99 just south of Pringle Avenue in south Sacramento left one person dead early in the morning.
The California Highway Patrol dispatch logs reported the collision at 2:43 a.m. The incident was initially logged as a traffic collision with unknown injuries before being updated to a traffic collision with ambulance en route. Logs show a request for medical aid with lights and sirens, and the Sacramento Fire Department was notified with lights and sirens. The coroner was notified at 3:19 a.m.
The No. 2 lane was blocked at 3:12 a.m.
CHP units were assigned starting at 2:47 a.m., with the first unit arriving on scene at 3:02 a.m.
Identities of those involved and the cause of the collision were not immediately available.
