A woman was found lying on the side of the road without a pulse early Wednesday morning on County Road 20 just east of Interstate 5 in Willows, resulting in one death.
California Highway Patrol dispatch logs reported the incident at 7:23 a.m. Fire and rescue personnel were en route, and the woman was standing by for police and fire arrival. The party was not associated with a vehicle, according to the logs. Authorities reported no CPR efforts or coroner notification in the initial details.
CHP units arrived on scene at 7:33 a.m., with sheriff’s office and fire personnel on scene by 7:32 a.m. A unit reported a traffic collision at 7:55 a.m. and requested a tow for a Toyota Camry with front-end damage at 7:53 a.m. A tow truck was notified at 7:55 a.m.
Animal control was notified at 8:12 a.m. about a cat in the roadway that was no longer blocking traffic.
Units cleared the scene by 8:48 a.m.
The identity of the woman and the cause of the incident were not immediately available.
