A motorcycle rider died after falling from the vehicle Tuesday afternoon on eastbound State Route 12 at Pythian Road in Santa Rosa, leaving one person dead.
According to California Highway Patrol dispatch logs, the incident was reported at 2:23 p.m. An ambulance was requested, and dispatchers inquired about the extent of injuries. Logs noted the rider fell with no associated vehicle involved, and the extent of injuries was unknown at the time.
The crash blocked the westbound lane. A reporting party directed traffic at the scene.
CHP units were assigned starting at 2:27 p.m., with the first arriving at 2:39 p.m. All lanes were reopened by 2:45 p.m.
The Department of Transportation was notified at 3:04 p.m.
The identities of those involved and the cause of the fall were not immediately available.
