A traffic incident on Interstate 80 eastbound near the San Pablo Dam Road onramp in Oakland left one person dead Monday afternoon.
According to California Highway Patrol dispatch logs, the fatality was reported at 3:31 p.m. Contra Costa County Fire Department personnel notified authorities of a deceased person at 3:39 p.m. San Pablo Police Department advised the fire department at 3:40 p.m. that CHP would handle the incident.
Authorities requested a traffic break at 3:33 p.m.
CHP units were assigned and en route starting at 3:37 p.m., with one unit cleared at 3:39 p.m. and additional units assigned and en route at 3:41 p.m.
The identities of those involved and the cause of the crash were not immediately available.
