A death was reported on U.S. Highway 50 westbound just east of Ice House Road in the Placerville area Monday morning.
According to California Highway Patrol dispatch logs, the incident was reported at 10:21 a.m. when CPR was in progress on the right-hand side of the road. A male was performing CPR on an older male next to a green vehicle. Cal Fire from Camino notified authorities of an elderly male receiving CPR near Ice House Road and White Meadow involving a green Toyota RAV4. Fire personnel arrived at the scene, and the location was updated based on information from fire units. Authorities notified fire personnel at 10:32 a.m., who reported no updates and CPR still in progress.
A CHP unit was assigned at 10:31 a.m., went en route at the same time and cleared the scene at 10:37 a.m.
Identities and the cause were not immediately available.
