A crash on State Route 62 eastbound at Rose Eden Drive in the Morongo Basin area left one person dead Sunday afternoon.
According to California Highway Patrol dispatch logs, the crash was reported at 2:22 p.m. Authorities requested an ambulance and notified Cal Fire. An additional ambulance was requested for young children. All parties were taken to Desert Regional Medical Center.
Authorities requested two tow trucks, including one for a vehicle missing a tire. Yucca Valley Towing was notified.
The No. 2 lane was closed while recovering a vehicle. All lanes were reopened at 4:15 p.m.
Units arrived at the scene at 2:25 p.m. and cleared at 4:15 p.m.
Identities and the cause of the crash were not immediately available.
