A traffic collision on eastbound Whittram Avenue just west of Banana Avenue in Rancho Cucamonga left one person dead Monday evening.
California Highway Patrol dispatch logs reported the crash at 6:30 p.m., with the incident changed from a traffic collision with unknown injuries to a traffic collision with ambulance en route. Logs noted fire personnel en route and a reporting party advising a bad traffic collision where the driver may be unconscious.
A gold vehicle overturned, and a gray sedan had a tire blowout before colliding into a pole and a recreational vehicle, blocking the right lane. It was unclear if the driver was out of the vehicle.
Units were assigned at 6:32 p.m. and arrived at the scene at 6:43 p.m.
Identities and causes were not immediately available.
