A head-on collision involving three vehicles on State Route 18 near Meridian Road east of Victorville left one person dead Monday morning.
According to California Highway Patrol dispatch logs, the crash was reported at 9:32 a.m. A reporting party advised of a Robertson semi-truck jackknifed across lanes, with a black Jeep also involved. Another caller, 500 yards from the scene, reported a head-on traffic collision with unknown injuries. A reporting party later advised of a male party and debris in the roadway.
CHP requested an Arrowhead unit to divert traffic from State Route 18 to northbound Camp Rock Road to State Route 247. The request to divert traffic was later canceled. CHP notified the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Office, which added information to the call and notified CHP or a sergeant on scene.
Units were assigned at 9:37 a.m., with some en route shortly after and arriving at the scene by 10:04 a.m. One unit arrived at 10:19 a.m.
Identities of those involved and the cause of the crash were not immediately available.
