A person died in an off-road vehicle crash late afternoon in the San Gorgonio Pass area.
According to California Highway Patrol dispatch logs, the crash was reported at 4:59 p.m. at 15960 Gilman Springs Road near the Quail Ranch Golf Course. The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office obtained the address from a rapid deployment system and dispatched the fire department. The logs described it as an offroading traffic collision.
Cal Fire inquired about the estimated time of arrival at 5:05 p.m. Fire personnel acknowledged the information from the office at 5:08 p.m.
A CHP unit inquired if Cal Fire had made contact with the involved party at 5:25 p.m. The unit reported that Cal Fire had made contact with the party at the old golf house on the golf course at 5:28 p.m. and would be heading in.
The coroner was notified and acknowledged all information at 5:36 p.m.
Directions to the scene were provided at 5:41 p.m., instructing to take the golf cart path from the clubhouse to an old equipment shed and then break off to the right.
Units were assigned and en route starting at 5:05 p.m., with arrivals at the scene at 5:26 p.m. and 5:35 p.m.
Identities and the cause of the crash were not immediately available.
