A vehicle crash southbound on Highway 29 near Clear Lake left one person dead Wednesday morning.
According to California Highway Patrol dispatch logs, the crash was reported at 9:37 a.m. and involved a gray SUV striking a tree. Authorities notified the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, Napa County Sheriff’s Office, Cal Fire and Caltrans. A tow truck was requested for the vehicle, which had a flat left tire and major front-end damage.
No lanes were blocked.
A downed utility pole with no lines involved was reported, and AT&T was notified.
Units arrived on scene starting at 9:54 a.m. and cleared by noon.
Identities and the cause were not immediately available.
