A person died when a gray SUV crashed into a tree on southbound State Route 29 near Clear Lake Monday morning.
According to California Highway Patrol dispatch logs, the single-vehicle collision was reported at 9:37 a.m. The logs noted no roadway blockage. Lake County Sheriff’s Office personnel were on scene.
A tow truck was requested at 10:34 a.m. for the SUV, which had a broken-out flat left tire and major front end damage. Young’s towing service was notified.
A downed pole with no lines was reported, with information provided to AT&T for pole number FTA327125.
Cal Fire, Caltrans, Napa County Sheriff’s Office and Lake County Sheriff’s Office were notified.
CHP units arrived at the scene between 9:54 a.m. and 10:24 a.m. and cleared by noon.
The driver’s identity was not immediately available, and the cause of the crash was not reported in the logs.
