A vehicle overturned in a ditch at Ager Road and Racoon Drive near Yreka late Tuesday night, leaving one person dead.
California Highway Patrol dispatch logs show the crash was reported at 8:01 p.m. and initially classified as a traffic collision with unknown injuries before being updated to a fatality at 9 p.m. The reporting party saw the vehicle flipped on its side but did not stop to check inside and did not see anyone outside the vehicle. CHP notified Cal Fire and the Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office, with fire personnel arriving on scene.
Multiple CHP units were assigned starting at 8:05 p.m., with arrivals beginning at 8:20 p.m. and continuing through 8:57 p.m.
The identities of those involved and the cause of the crash were not immediately available.
