A crash between two vehicles left one person dead late Sunday afternoon at Cole Grade Road and Fruitvale Road in the Oceanside area.
California Highway Patrol dispatch logs reported the collision at 5:03 p.m. The logs indicated a maroon Nissan Frontier and a gray Honda Accord were involved, with vehicles blocking the roadway. The San Diego County Sheriff’s Office also reported a three-vehicle collision nearby at Bernabeo Court and Cole Grade Road involving a blue sport utility vehicle, a sedan and an unknown vehicle.
Dispatch logs showed a request for a hard road closure, with the location to be determined later. Sheriff’s deputies were en route for traffic control.
Several CHP units were assigned starting at 5:46 p.m. and began responding shortly after.
Identities of those involved and the cause of the crash were not immediately available.
