Late Monday night, a traffic incident at Power Inn Road and Junipero Street in South Sacramento left one person dead.
According to California Highway Patrol dispatch logs, the incident was reported at 11:28 p.m. A pickup truck remained on scene. A unit arrived at the scene at 11:35 p.m. A battalion chief held the line with fire personnel copying and conducted a landline call with a bystander at 11:36 p.m. Sacramento Fire Department arrived at 11:37 p.m. A unit reported fire personnel blocking northbound and southbound lanes of Power Inn Road at 11:37 p.m.
Units were assigned starting at 11:29 p.m. and began arriving at the scene by 11:30 p.m., with additional arrivals through 11:40 p.m.
Lanes were blocked in both directions on Power Inn Road.
Identities of those involved and the cause of the incident were not immediately available.
