A crash left one person dead early Monday morning at Airport Road and River Valley Drive in Redding.
According to California Highway Patrol dispatch logs, the incident was reported at 1:49 a.m. A pedestrian was in the roadway. Medical and fire personnel were en route.
CHP officers arrived on scene at 1:51 a.m. The incident was not a hit and run. One person was transported to Mercy Medical Center, with CHP handling follow-up.
A tow truck was requested for a fully dressed Harley-Davidson motorcycle that was 10 feet off the roadway in a ditch. Officers notified Premier Towing for the rotation request.
CHP officers requested the names, titles and IDs of fire crew members who were on scene.
Identities and the cause of the crash were not immediately available.
