Pedestrian killed in vehicle crash at Oak Rd / Las Juntas Way in Contra Costa Area

A vehicle struck a pedestrian Tuesday evening at Oak Road and Las Juntas Way in Contra Costa County, leaving one person dead.

California Highway Patrol dispatch logs reported the crash at 6:04 p.m. Firefighters arrived on scene and started CPR on the victim. Authorities requested an ambulance for the vehicle-versus-pedestrian collision, which occurred in front of 3100 Oak Road.

Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office personnel blocked the roadway. CHP units were assigned at 6:14 p.m. and 6:15 p.m., arriving on scene by 6:21 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

Authorities notified Pleasant Hill Police Department and Lafayette Police Department regarding live scan fingerprinting availability for identification purposes. One notation referenced John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek.

CHP units cleared the scene by 9:01 p.m.

Identities of those involved and the cause of the crash were not immediately available.
