A vehicle struck a pedestrian Friday morning on westbound Florin Road at Fletcher Farm Drive in South Sacramento, leaving one person dead.
According to California Highway Patrol dispatch logs, the incident was reported at 6:08 a.m. Another caller reported a pedestrian was involved and an unknown vehicle had stopped nearby, though the reporting party had no vehicle description. The call was transferred to fire personnel at 6:13 a.m.
All lanes were blocked at 6:21 a.m.
CHP units were assigned at 6:11 a.m., with some arriving on scene by 6:19 a.m. and 6:21 a.m.
Identities of those involved and the cause were not immediately available.
