A person died early Friday morning after a traffic incident on northbound state Route 51 just south of Marconi Avenue in Sacramento, authorities said.
The California Highway Patrol dispatch logs reported the incident at 1:53 a.m. as a fatality involving a pedestrian in the roadway. Logs showed an unknown party lying in lanes 3 and 4, with multiple vehicles stopping and drivers getting out. No ambulance requests or CPR efforts were noted, and fire response was canceled.
All lanes were reported as a traffic hazard at the time.
Units were assigned starting at 1:56 a.m. and arrived on scene by 2:00 a.m.
